GLOBAL BANK JOINS PARTITION REVOLUTION WITH OPTIMA
For the creation of a global bank’s new UK head office, privacy within offices, meeting rooms and the boardroom, was of paramount importance. For its impressive acoustic properties, architects specified, Revolution 97, a high performing partitioning system from Optima Products.
A former office located in central London, designers MRD London were presented with a blank canvas following the building being stripped back to a shell by its owners. Concentrating on commercial office interiors and with an architectural approach of simple, stylish design with clean, uncluttered aesthetics, MRD London was tasked with creating the banks new office.
Having previously specified partitions from Optima and being impressed with their acoustic performance and good looks, the decision as to what partitions to choose was easy. MRD London, working with contractor Overbury Plc, a fit out and refurbishment specialist, chose Optima’s Revolution 97 system.
Revolution 97 system is a high performing, demountable partition system. Available as a single or double glazed system, its elegant design makes it ideal for modern working environments and its acoustic properties ensure that privacy can be easily achieved.
A double glazed system was used to create the bank’s new offices, meeting rooms and the main boardroom. These were finished with double glazed doors for the meeting rooms and boardroom and timber doors and frames on the offices. The double glazed doors were fitted in Optima’s Microflush door frame. Ingeniously designed, they feature minimal ironmongery to maintain an elegant and sleek look.
A mullion free system, Revolution 97 offers discreet flush aluminium dry joints and has been designed to sit flush with doors and drywall to create a seamless finish. It has also been designed with installation in mind and its dry fix system means that, as well as being able to be quickly installed, it can be easily moved and reused in the future if required.
Revolution 97 has been designed to achieve excellent acoustics – an essential requirement for the bank – to ensure meetings could be held in private. The double glazed system, when using two layers of toughened glass, can achieve Rw40dB. Just one layer of toughened glass, one layer of acoustic laminated glass, and acoustic foam to perimeter voids, can achieve up to Rw44dB. This helps to ensure that airborne sound is controlled and any meetings are kept private.
To allow for any movements in the building, Revolution 97 features an innovative aluminium extruded deflection head, developed by Optima. This allows a tolerance of +/-25mm, ensuring the panels do not suffer from stress in the event of any movement.
Now complete, the Revolution 97 system from Optima is helping to create the perfect working environment for the bank and its staff, whilst ensuring that any confidential meetings, stay confidential.
